Aston Martin Valkyrie: AM-RB 001 hypercar given Norse name ahead of Geneva Motor Show – Telegraph.co.uk
It’s the latest in a long line of Aston Martins with names that begin with ‘V’. Since the Vantage badge appeared in 1951, the manufacturer has used Vanquish, Virage, Volante and Vulcan.
Valkyrie is a word plucked from Norse mythology – valkyries are female figures who take fallen warriors to Valhalla, the ‘hall of the slain’.
“Aston Martin model names have deep meaning,” says Marek Reichman, Aston Martin’s Chief Creative Officer.
