BMW driver arrested after passenger injured in Dallas North Tollway crash – Dallas News (blog)
Haschel said a black BMW was traveling north when it veered to the right, struck the concrete barrier, swerved back to the left and crashed into the left barrier.
The driver and the passenger got out of the car and were standing in the roadway, when a good Samaritan driving a Chrysler minivan stopped to help them.
They were all outside of their vehicles when the driver of a Toyota Camry struck the BMW. The force pushed the BMW into the minivan, pinning the passenger of the BMW between the vehicles.
Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and took the woman to a hospital with serious injuries. There were no other injuries reported.
The driver of the BMW fled the scene, but was found later and taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence, Haschel said. The investigation is ongoing.
The tollway reopened about 4 a.m.
