The Hottest New Cars At The Detroit Auto Show – Forbes

There may not have been any solid home runs hit at this year’s North American International Auto Show in terms of seductive and otherwise unobtainable new sports cars unveiled, but there were several solid singles and even a few extra base hits to help make one forget about winter.

Oddly enough what would have been the biggest stars of the show – the confirmed second coming of the midsize Ford Bronco SUV and Ranger pickup truck and the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer models – were represented in name only, with no renderings, concept models, or even concrete information to share with hyperbole-crazed automotive journalists.

Still, while there were more “XX of the Year” awards handed out than new models unveiled, automakers managed to preview a stalwart selection of mostly updated new models in addition to the usual flights of fancy known as concept cars that stir the imagination, but are otherwise incapable of bringing customers into dealers’ showrooms.

Check the accompanying slideshow for a look at the 10 most significant new production cars and trucks that premiered in Detroit this week.
