Winter Weather Dings US Auto Sales – Wall Street Journal

U.S. auto sales were mixed in January as fewer selling days than a year earlier and a blizzard along the East Coast kept shoppers away from dealer showrooms.

Sales discounts and nationwide average gasoline prices below $2 a gallon spurred buying despite the bad weather, helping several auto makers post gains, while others reported modest sales declines.
