Revved up after attending a car show, this driver attempted an impressive ‘drift’ round a bend in his brand new BMW – but ended up crashing into a stationary car.

Unfortunately for the petrolhead, there was a crowd of people outside the Ultimate Stance event at Telford International Centre to witness his failed stunt.

And, as there is a police station just down the road, officers in patrol cars were quick to arrive.

Matt Dawson, 20, filmed the scene on October 30 and uploaded the footage on Facebook

He told MailOnline: ‘It was the end of the day after Ultimate Stance and there was a few people gathered at the end of the road watching some of the cars leave.

‘I just happened to film it at the right time when that guy decided to try and show off.’

The BMW driver had boasted about his new car online, and only fitted the number plates four weeks ago.

Facebook users were quick to pour scorn on the driver.

One wrote: ‘What exactly was he trying to do because that looked like it would end badly from the start.’

Mr Dawson added: ‘There is always one as they say.’

‘Stanced’ cars are ones that have been modified to have the main body of the vehicle as low to the ground as possible.
