‘Cars 3’ tour will start from Disney Springs – Orlando Sentinel
A national promotional tour in support of the upcoming Disney-Pixar film “Cars 3” will begin Thursday at Walt Disney World.
The “Road to the Races” tour will spend four days at Disney Springs, according to the official Disney Parks Blog.
Along with an extended sneak peek of the animated film, there will be photo opportunities with three life-size character cars including Lightning McQueen and new models Cruz Ramirez and Jackson Storm.
Other activities will include a pit crew tire-changing activity, giant color mural, an interactive play area, a digital postcard station, goodies from the Piston Cup prize wheel, a dance party and “high-octane smoothies,” Disney says. In addition, NASCAR will present the history and science behind its brand.
The Disney Springs tour stop will be in the former bus loop near Once Upon a Toy on the Marketplace side of the complex. Hours will be noon to 7 p.m. Thursday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
After Disney Springs, the tour will move on to locations in Tampa (Raymond James Stadium) and Miami (Bayfront Park) before hitting 24 other cities.
The film — featuring the voices of Owen Wilson as Lightning, Armie Hammer as Jackson and Cristela Alonzo as Cruz, opens in theaters on June 16.
