Project CARS 2 is a thing.
Announced today on the Project CARS blog, Slightly Mad studios “now turns its attention to the future with the announcement of the continuation of the franchise with Project CARS 2.” However, the blog claims Slightly Mad will “continue providing Project CARS with fresh new features, updates, and great things to play with throughout the year.”
The blog goes on to say, “once again, the sequel will be created, tested, and ultimately approved by you – the gamers – through the WMD Portal crowd-funding platform.”
Project CARS, which began as a crowd-funded game, saw its share of platform shifts, and revised release dates. Last month we learned it might not arrive on the Wii U due to technical challenges. The game celebrated a milestone earlier this month, selling more than 1 million copies worldwide.
Project CARS 2 is expected to be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Steam OS, according to the WMD Portal page.
