LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Saturday night Jefferson County deputies and a Denver Police car were rammed by two male suspects that were breaking into cars.

It all started at 10:40 pm. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received a call about two people breaking into cars.  Initially, the two escaped in a Jeep Wrangler.

Later, at 11:50 pm, two deputies spotted the Jeep and a Volkswagen near Kipling Pkwy and Remington Ave. Turns out the Volkswagen was stolen.

As deputies approached the vehicles the Jeep fled and the Volkswagen rear-ended one of the patrol cars. As both deputies struggled with that driver, the Jeep returned and hit one of the deputies. The deputy was treated for minor injuries.

Shortly after hitting the deputy, the Jeep fled to Denver where it rammed a Denver Police car.

Police later located the empty Jeep in Lakewood. The male who was driving the Volkswagen was apprehended by Lakewood Police.

The second suspect, the driver of the Jeep, remains at large.
