Was Cameron’s third term answer ‘disaster’ or ‘honest reply’? – BBC News
The Labour Party’s former director of communications, Alastair Campbell, says that David Cameron’s admission that he will not serve a third term was a “disaster” that will distract from the Conservative election campaign.
Speaking to BBC Newsnight‘s Evan Davis, Mr Campbell argued that Mr Cameron was “under no pressure” to directly answer the BBC’s question.
The Conservative Chief Whip Michael Gove responded by arguing that Mr Cameron had given an “honest reply” that reflects the reality of fixed-term parliaments.
