It’s the age-old question: new or used? When car shopping, its the first question many enthusiasts have to answer, each having its equal share of pros and cons. With new cars, you get a warranty and the latest in tech, but take a depreciation hit the minute you drive off the lot. With used cars, you save up front, but risk driving without a warranty to back you up.
Of course, when you’re spending your own money, it all comes down to personal preference. But it’s good to know what else you can get for the price you’re paying, especially if it means more fun per dollar.
Car Throttle took the time to put together a video as an example for buying new versus used. Using the price of a brand new BMW M2, they’ve compiled a list of five cheaper (but just as fun) used cars that can be had instead. Cars like the E46 M3 or Honda S2000 might not be as luxurious or as capable as the M2 by themselves, but you’d be surprised with just how much you can get for your money.
