Motoring Review: Magic Mazda 2 does it again – Express.co.uk

In the back there’s a decent amount of space. Admittedly, adults might find legroom rather cosy but you have to remember this is a small car. The boot is also a good size although the loading lip is a little on the high side.

Despite all its foibles we like this Mazda 2. Good looking, a decent drive and with a smart–ish interior the baby Mazda may not excel above its rivals in any one area but it does do very well in many of them and is hard to fault outright.

It’s certainly a better all–rounder than the talented but uninspired new Vauxhall Corsa and also boasts better styling and driving dynamics than either that or the Renault Clio.

In short, the new Mazda 2 might not be a class–leader but there’s no question that it fully deserves to be on the shopping list of anyone after a small car.

As in 2008, it could be another World Car of the Year in the making.
